Knowledge Management Technologies

Three of these – diagnosis, procedures, and prescriptions – are professional skills.  The others – communication, interaction, and education – are key interpersonal capabilities shared by healthcare professionals and patients. 

Professional skills are very important, but interpersonal capabilities determine eighty percent of healthcare outcomes.  The best procedures and medicines may be ineffective unless patients follow medical instructions and reliably manage their health behaviors. 

Pathways Knowledge Management Technologies (anytime-anyplace multi-channel communication, comprehensive information systems, and interactive video training) provide more effective personal health management solutions than traditional healthcare.  These technologies are used to enhance Pathways healthcare, personal training, consultation, and research programs.

Communications

Pathways Communications Systems are based on anytime-anyplace access via cell phones and the Internet.  Services are staffed by health consultants and nurse practitioners with access to subscriber personal health records.  Multiple communications channels support both voice and video interactions.

The CHA-Pathways partnership produces a web-based technology platform called the Consumer Health Data Center (CDHC) that is directly licensed through employers or other defined groups.  CDHC personal databases include claims, clinical, automated natural language personal histories based on Pathways Linguistic Technologies.
